UNHCR Secures Release of Social Group Arrested in Hargeysa
Text of report by privately-owned Somali radio HornAfrik on 18 July
[Presenter] The police in Somaliland this afternoon released members of social groups movement who had been by the police at the Hargeysa airport. Muhammas Ise Diriye has the details.
[Diriye] Up to 20 members of the Somali social groups who were earlier today arrested by police at Hargeysa airport were released this afternoon. The members who included seven women had flown out of Adan Adde International Airport in Mogadishu aboard Daalo Airlines today. It is reported that they had flown to Hargeysa in response to an invitation by UNHCR to attend a seminar.
The release of the group followed negotiations between Somaliland officials and UNHCR officials based in Hargeysa.

It is pathetic to see official of UN organizations try to behave like owning the Somaliland government. The time is long overdue that they can do what they want. It is time to act. The ball is the in the hands of people of Somaliland, now that the government is doing nothing to show its sovereignty!!!!
